Guide to writing a thesis
The first thought of writing a diploma thesis may seem frightening, mainly due to the association with the volume of work itself, and then its defense against the examination board. However, developing an appropriate strategy will greatly simplify job writing. Such a useful strategy can be developed by reading the following textbook for writing a diploma thesis.
Here are some of the most important points that should be implemented one by one, in order to gradually write a thesis and defend it to the highest possible level:
First of all, it’s best to start with writing a table of contents.
Only this approach will allow you to build your work in stages. If you do not know what your table of contents should look like, ask for information from the promoter. You can also ask for access to older diplomas, which will be a hint and inspiration to write a thesis. Once your table of contents has been created, you can proceed to the next stage.
After writing the entire table of contents, you can proceed to search for materials needed to write each of the work points. Of course, at this stage it is very important to follow the guidelines for work, which are determined by the university (dean’s office). When writing a job, you still need to control the text format and other parameters to see if they comply with the guidelines. Otherwise, it will be necessary to search for work and correct errors later. When searching for materials, please use a computer program in the reading room, which should be available at every university. It allows you to search for phrases that interest us most, thanks to entering phrases, we will get literature, based on which the diploma thesis will be created.
After finding the appropriate sources of literature, it is worth collecting them in an orderly manner.
It is best to fasten the pages together, which we will use for a specific point or sub-point in the diploma thesis. This orderly holding of notes will allow you to easily find information. It is also worth while to read the material, immediately highlight the fragments of interest in the materials in the form of photocopying.
Once you have taken care of all the necessary work writing materials, you can start the process of writing your diploma thesis. Each work starts with a title page, which can be downloaded from the university website. Then there is a statement in which the graduate declares that his diploma thesis was written independently and is not a plagiarism. The title page and the statement should be signed. Next, there is a table of contents at work, which must be formatted in accordance with the dean’s office guidelines.
At the very beginning of the table of contents there is the purpose and scope of the work and introduction. These are extremely important points on which the promoter and reviewer pays special attention, also the examination committee usually gets acquainted with the contents of these two points during the diploma exam. The purpose and scope of the work is a short point in which only in a more elaborate manner is the goal in which the work was created (one or two sentences) and what is contained in the diploma thesis. If your work contains analysis, tables, maps, charts, then this point is suitable to inform about it. At this point you can use phrases such as “The purpose of this work is to show” or “My work contains …”, “At work there are”.
The next point is the introduction, which is as important as the first point. The introduction should be a bit more extensive and contain about half a page in volume. In the introduction, you usually write in a more complex way, about everything that’s included in the work and how you collected work materials, how it achieved practical results, such as tables and charts. If some computer programs were used at work, this should also be mentioned in this passage. If the work is related to materials that were obtained in connection with the conduct of surveys or interviews, it should also be written. This point informs you how the entire content of the work was created.
The next points in the work are already the appropriate points.
The first part of the diploma thesis is usually the theoretical part, in which there is content developed exclusively using literature. The second part of the work is more a creative element of the person who is writing a job. It usually contains analysis, summary, own conclusions, or self-developed results in the form of tables, drawings, charts or maps. When writing each of the points, you should start by writing an introduction, which should be proportional to the volume of the given point.
The summary, which is at the end of the practical part of the work, is equally important. It is in the summary that the most important content contained in the work is discussed.
These are some of the most important tips that you can create your own and effective strategy for writing a thesis.
